Whether on a conscious or subconscious level, hands are one of first thing we notice when we meet someone. From the ancient ritual of handshaking which we continue today, through to greeting someone our hands offer a window into who we are as people. Nails have formed such an important part of the grooming ritual.

Nail Extensions

A lightweight plastic plate that follows the shape of the nail is glued to the tip of the natural nail in order to add length. We specialize in both GEL as well as ACRYLIC Nail Extensions to add strength, length and shine to the natural nail. It increases the durability of the natural nail.

Types of Nail Extensions :

Acrylic Nails:- It is the oldest form of nail extensions in the modern beauty industry and have long since been a staple due to staying power. The acrylic is a mixture of liquid monomer and a powder polymer, which when combined forms a hard protective layer i.e. sculpted over the natural nail. The procedure is a multi-step process that involves preparing the natural nail by cleaning, shaping, buffing and cuticle removal followed by applying artificial tips to add length and acrylic on top.

PROS:
Strong and durable, can last for a longer time.

CONS

  • Can damage the natural nail bed because the natural nail is unable to breathe beneath the acrylic.
  • Can look heavy and artificial.
  • It involves chemicals and fumes. Thus, not advised for pregnant women.

Gel Nails:-
A gel is a special mixture that is applied to the top of an artificial nail extension or directly onto the natural nail bed to strengthen and promote natural growth. The Gel is applied in fine layers, with a nail technician “curing or sealing” the Gel with a UV or LED Lamp after every layer to end in a natural-looking glossy finish which is both instantly dry and chip resistant. They are good for individuals who have very short, weak or bitten nails because they allow the nail to strengthen and grow below the layer of Gel.

PROS

  • Does not damage the natural nail instead promotes, strengthens and protects the natural growth.
  • A gel is odourless, unlike acrylic nail system.
  • They are more natural-looking and flexible.

A gel is considered a safer and more environment-friendly option to acrylics.

CONS

  • Less durable than acrylics.
  • Most Gel variations must be cured using UV lights thus, difficult to fix at home.

Dipping Nails:- Dip powder nails are also called as SNS nails. They are a hybrid between gel nail polish and acrylic extensions that involve “dipping” the nail into a carton of pigmented powder. The powder is then topped with a clear sealant for a long lasting manicure.

PROS

  • More durable.
  • No curing with UV lights

CONS

  • Little tricky procedure
  • Looks bulkier than regular polish
  • Removal is a little harsh

Gel Polish/Power Polish/Gelicure

It is similar to traditional hard Gel, although a much weaker form of it. It is running, so can be easily brushed over nails regular nail polish. It cures under a UV or LED light, takes about 30 seconds.

PROS

  • Quick-Drying and easy to apply.
  • Does not harm the natural nail.
  • Has a lot of colour options.

CONS

  • Won’t last as long as extensions.
  • Wears on free edges with time.

GEL OVERLAYS

It is done by applying Gel directly on the surface of the nail. It adds layers of protection, keeps the nails from cracking and splitting

ACRYLIC OVERLAYS

They consist of acrylic powder and monomer liquid that is delicately applied over your own nails. These overlays on nails provide a strong and protective layer without the added length that extensions provide. They will need a refill just like extensions after every fifteen days.

DIPPING OVERLAYS

They consist of specific dip powders which are of the intermediate nature of gel and acrylic nail material. They are also done on your natural nails and don’t require curing or sealing the product in UV lamps, it air dries.
